Sharon Vonne Stone, popularly known as Sharon Stone, was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania, USA on March 10, 1958. While studying at the University of Pennsylvania, Sharon won the title of Miss Crawford County and was a of the Miss Pennsylvania beauty pageant candidates. In 1977 she moved to New Jersey to try her luck as a model.
Two years later she travels through Europe, deciding then to abandon her successful career as a model and start a new one as an actress. She appears in a small non-speaking role in Woody Allen's 1980 film 'Stardust Memories' and a year later she has a more prominent performance in Wes Craven's horror film 'Deadly Blessing' (1981). That same year she briefly participated in the French film Claude Lelouch, 'Los uno y los otros', in which she only appears on stage for two minutes and is not included in the final credits. In 1982 she works in the first season of the television series 'Silver Spoons', and in 1983 she is part of the cast of the miniseries 'Bay City Blues', and in an episode of the popular series 'Remington Steele'.

One reason for the long delay in release was Stone's dispute with the filmmakers over the sex scenes in the film; the actress considered that there were not enough. A group sex scene is later filmed in order to achieve an R rating for the North American release. But the film, unlike its predecessor, was a huge box office flop. After her, the actress participates in minor films in Europe and America in which she does not raise her head. She returns to television in 2018 in the Steven Soderbergh series 'Mosaic', with a performance praised by critics.
This 2021 she has published the book 'In the Beauty of Living Twice', in which she recounts her efforts to rebuild her life after the serious health problem she suffered in 2001. The actress is now very active in the fight against AIDS, in for peace in the Middle East and participates in different charitable foundations.
