Brooke Shields has not had a good time in recent months. And what could have been normal recovery from a fracture was complicated by a staph infection, for which the actress had to undergo several surgeries.

“I think it has almost been the greatest blessing to date because I realize how much of a fighter I am,” the 55-year-old actress said in an interview for Good Morning America, already recovered. “There are so many things that could have happened, I feel so lucky. I feel so lucky to be alive,” she assured.

However, as her injuries began to heal, an infection in her arm at the IV site landed her back in the hospital, where she stayed for another two weeks. During that period, due to the prevailing protocols due to the pandemic, she was unable to receive visitors, which made the situation more complicated.

“Once the fear took over me, that's when I started to falter. I don't think I've ever been more afraid because I was helpless,” she confessed. And she added that thinking of her family was her greatest motivation in those hard days. “I had to keep calm for my family, because I would never return home…” My daughters asked me if I thought I was going to die, ”revealed the actress, who is already in full recovery.
