The actress, victim of Harvey Weinstein, assures that "there is justice"
Eva Green's is one of those faces that we often see on the small and on the big screen. The Frenchwoman has managed to gain a foothold in the complicated film industry and she can boast of having achieved achievements such as her Golden Globe nomination for her role in the series 'Penny Dreadful'. Currently, she is immersed in the promotion of 'Dumbo', a Tim Burton film in which she stars alongside the most famous elephant of all time.
What perhaps a large part of the public does not know is that her beginnings were not exactly simple. In fact, as she herself decided to reveal long ago, she was one of the victims of s-xual predator Harvey Weinstein. Just landed in Hollywood, as they say, and with the illusion of becoming the actress she had always dreamed of being, a young Eva Green fell into the net of the producer, currently involved in one of the largest cases of s-xual abuse and harassment in the history.
For the victims, seeing how Weinstein has been uncovered, seeing how the industry has turned its back on him and, above all, seeing how he is being judged and condemned -not only by society, but also by justice-, is becoming something less rewarding. The actress herself wanted to talk about this in an interview with ES Magazine as part of the promotional tour for 'Dumbo'.
In it, Eva Green has defined everything that is happening with Harvey Weinstein as "a miracle", but she also wanted to emphasize that he is not the only s-xual predator in the cinema, much less in the world. A message that reminds us that not everything is over with the producer's scandal, despite the fact that the waters are much calmer at the moment.
“He was like a god. He could make you, destroy you. You thought, maybe something will change - he could win an Oscar! So the first time you met him you felt privileged. But what has happened to him is a miracle. There is justice. But you know, there are 'pigs' everywhere, in all fields", pointed out the actress in this interview, putting the focus outside the cinema, in all areas of work, social, etc.
Brave testimonies like that of Eva Green, who had the courage to admit what happened to her and what she felt, why she fell into her net and others, give strength to those who are experiencing a similar situation. And, in addition, they completely eliminate that perfect image, of a happy and golden life, that we often have of Hollywood stars and that does not correspond to reality at all.
