Contrary to what many think, her short stint in p-rn didn't earn her much.
Mia Khalifa, 28, was a p-rn actress in 2014, who became known worldwide for a scene in which she performs s-xual acts wearing the hijab, a veil used by Muslim women to cover her head. Although her time on adult content platforms was short, according to the BBC, she managed to become one of the most viewed p-rn stars of all time. In fact, in recent years she has fought to get websites to delete her images and stop profiting from them.
In several interviews, she has confessed that her stage as an adult content actress felt manipulated and pressured, but above all, she was very afraid of the threats from the terrorist group ISIS, after the clip of her with the hijab. A situation that affected her mental health.
How much money did she earn from the videos?
In 2019, Khalifa 'opened her heart' and in dialogue with Megan Abbott she confessed that during the short period that she worked as a p-rn actress she earned 12,000 dollars, but she never saw a single peso again for the use of the image her. Something that she also made clear through her Twitter.
"People think I'm making millions off of p-rn. Totally untrue. I made a TOTAL of around 12,000 USD in the industry and never looked at a penny after that. Difficulty finding a regular job after quitting p-rn was terrifying," he wrote.
After a few months and 11 recorded videos, the woman retired from the industry and, although many doors were closed to her because of her past, she managed to position herself on social networks and become a sports commentator.
As for her personal life, she was Robert Sandberg's partner for more than three years, in fact, they were about to get married when they announced her separation in July of this year.
"We will always love and respect each other because we know that an isolated incident did not cause our separation, but the culmination of fundamental and insoluble differences for which no one can blame the other," the woman wrote on her Instagram account after the breakup.
