How was Margot Robbie's audition for her role in The Wolf of Wall Street?

Martin Scorsese recalled the day Robbie auditioned for her role as Naomi Lapaglia and confessed that it was "an improvisation that left us perplexed" that meant one of the most important roles of the actress.

When she first auditioned for Martin Scorsese's new movie The Wolf of Wallstreet, Margot Robbie had "literally 30 seconds in that room" to do something impressive. "It's the only chance life gives you, take it," the actress told herself. She thus she related it in a conversation in 2015 with Harper's Bazaar.

Martin Scorsese also wanted to tell her part of the story of that audition in "Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People."

It was the first time the Oscar winner had heard about Margot Robbie advertising The Mirror. "She got the part of her in The Wolf of Wall Street at our first meeting (...) by booting up and giving Leonardo DiCaprio a thunderous slap in the face," Scorsese writes. "(It was) an improvisation that blew us away."

In an interview with Margot, she also recalled that audition where she said that this meeting was her only chance in her life and she had to take advantage of it. She started yelling at Leo and he was yelling at her.

"He ended by saying, 'You'd be happy to have a husband like me. Now come over here and kiss me.' chance to kiss Leo DiCaprio?'"

"But another part of my brain clicked and I just wack! I punched him in the face. And then I yelled 'Fuck you!' and that wasn't in the script. The room went silent and I froze." , said the actress. Scorsese laughed, Leo laughed and even told him to hit him again.

It was what won Scorsese's heart and a week later he offered Robbie the role of Naomi Lapaglia.
