"MOON OF MY LIFE. You are wonderful love u forever," he wrote for his former co-star.
Game of Thrones fans, here's one for you. Jason Momoa and Emilia Clarke are together once again.
The two co-starred in the megahit HBO fantasy drama during the show's first season in 2011, playing King and Queen of the Dothraki, Khal Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen. Momoa's character was *spoiler alert* killed off in season 1, while Clarke would go on to play the powerful, dragon-wielding "Khaleesi" until the series final season, which saw Daenerys meet an extremely contentious end.
But despite not working alongside each other for a decade, the actors have remained close. They reunited over the weekend of August 14 to celebrate the birthday of David Benioff, the co-creator, showrunner, and writer of GoT. Both Momoa—who shares two children with wife Lisa Bonet—and Clarke shared sweet photos on their respective Instagram accounts, offering a nod to their iconic characters in their captions.
"MOON OF MY LIFE. you are wonderful love u forever @emilia_clarke #smilelyeyes," the 42-year-old Aquaman star wrote.
As for Clarke, she posted a snap of herself in Momoa's arms with the caption: "When your sun and stars rolls into town you check that he can still bench press a Khaleesi.
The two previously excited fans when Clarke attended Momoa's 40th birthday celebrations in 2019. Later that year, the 34-year-old opened up on the Armchair Expert With Dax Shepard podcast about how considerate Momoa was when they filmed uncomfortable sex scenes.
"He took care of me in an environment where I didn’t know I needed to be taken care of,” she said. “Jason was an experienced actor who had done a bunch of stuff before coming onto Game of Thrones. He said, ‘This is how it’s meant to be and how it’s not meant to be. I’m going to make sure that’s not the case.’ So he was always like, 'Can we get her a robe? She's shivering!"
She continued, “It’s only now I realize how fortunate I was. That could've gone many, many different ways. He was so kind and considerate, and cared about me as a human being."
