Kristen Stewart Says Shooting Her Infamous Twilight S-x Scene Was 'Agony'

Kristen Stewart rose to fame as Bella Swan in the Twilight saga, but the actress insists the pressure of living up to the expectations of the series’ fans wasn’t easy.

In particular, Stewart told Harper’s Bazaar UK , shooting s-x scenes like one with ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson in the series’ fourth installment, Breaking Dawn, are “grotesquely uncomfortable.”

“I only hate them when they’re contrived,” says Stewart, 25.

“On Twilight we had to do the most epic s-x scene of all time,” says the actress of the infamous rough-and-tumble romp, which left their character’s bedroom in shambles. “It had to be transcendent and otherworldly, inhuman, better s-x than you can possibly ever imagine, and we were like, ‘How do we live up to that?’ It was agony. Which sucks, because I wanted it to be so good.”

The Still Alice actress also says that women “inevitably have to work a little bit harder to be heard” in Hollywood.

“Hollywood is disgustingly s-xist,” she tells the magazine. “It’s crazy. It’s so offensive it’s crazy.”

Stewart also sounds off on n-dity on screen – and what might drive a well-known actress to bare all.

“I just even question when a fairly established actress finally does a scene on a movie when she shows her boobs and she hasn’t done it up until this moment,” Stewart says. “And maybe she only did it for the prestigious part and it’s okay for this time because it’s classy, and I’m like, ‘Oh God, thank you for revealing to the world your treasure.’ ”

As for the whole fame game? Stewart calls it “the worst thing in the world.”

“Especially if it’s pointless. When people say. ‘I want to be famous’ – why? You don’t do anything,” she says.

Stewart has been an outspoken critic of celebrity culture, recently telling The Hollywood Reporter: “If you think about the source of it, which is really the big, big, big green monster of cash, there’s just no way that that’s stopping. It’s a new industry – celebrity news is a whole new form of entertainment – and it’s a huge, booming, f—ing money-making industry, so why would it stop?”

Still it’s her passion for the craft of acting that keeps her going.

“I love what I do and so it’s worth protecting,” she added.
