SATC's Sarah Jessica Parker suffers a wardrobe malfunction when her bag breaks

SATC's Sarah Jessica Parker suffers a wardrobe malfunction when her bag breaks - after arriving in Carrie Bradshaw-esque style for the highly-anticipated And Just Like That... premiere in New York

There was no doubt that all eyes were on Sarah Jessica Parker on Wednesday night as she wowed in a Carrie Bradshaw-approved Oscar de la Renta gown for the premiere of the S-x And The City reboot, And Just Like That... in New York on Wednesday.

But the actress, 56, garnered attention for another reason during the star-studded evening as she suffered an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction, whereby her elegant, silver clutch bag loose from its pristine white strap, which she was left holding as the accessory fell to the floor.

While her son James struggled to stifle his laughter, a seemingly unfazed Sarah rushed to retrieve her purse, continuing to turn heads in her gown which boasted a stunning shade of blue-grey with a pale pink tulle skirt poking out from underneath.

The fashion designer's striking number stopped mid-calf and featured sequin embellishment throughout, while layering a matching semi-sheer cloak over her shoulders in a further injection of glam.

Fans of the fashion queen will note the callbacks of the look to her charcoal hued gown from the 2004 Golden Globes, with a matching bustier and full skirt - differentiated only by the cape and high hemmed detail.

She sported a traditional and a pink diamond choker around her neck and fastened a pair of matching studs to her ears. Her blonde locks were slicked back and styled into a chic bun.

Sarah was joined by her longtime husband Matthew Broderick and their 19-year-old son James Wilkie, who got all gussied up for the occasion in matching suits.

The Golden Globe-nominated actor looked proud of his stunning wife as they posed as a family.

And Just Like That... will follow Carrie (Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) as they 'navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s,' according to the synopsis.

Kim Cattrall, who famously played s-x positive, successful PR agent Samantha Jones, did not return for the highly-anticipated reboot, but Jones' absence will reportedly be addressed.

Other returning cast members include Chris Noth, Evan Handler, Mario Cantone, and David Eigenberg.

It was revealed earlier this year that actresses Nicole Ari Parker, Sarita Choudhury, Karen Pittman, and Grey's Anatomy's Sara Ramírez had been added to the cast.

Speaking to Today, Pittman and Choudhury described landing roles in the reboot as a 'dream come true.'
