Miley Cyrus wants to leave 'Hannah Montana' in the past
Miley Cyrus went from being the daughter of 'Achy Breaky Heart' singer Billy Ray Cyrus to mega-stardom almost overnight. The Hannah Montana Run on the Disney Channel followed Cyrus into adulthood despite her desire to leave him behind.
Just two short years later, Cyrus surprised Hannah Montana fans. She released her hit single 'Wrecking Ball' with a new image as part of her fourth studio album Bangerz. The notable changes were part of Cyrus' recovery of her life, without the Disney Channel filter.
During her time on the show, Cyrus' everyday character Miley Stewart was closely related to her best friends Lilly Truscott (Emily Osment) and Oliver Oken (Mitchell Musso). They were the only two who knew of Miley's double secret identity as superstar Hannah Montana.
Since the show last aired in 2011, a lot has happened. Has Cyrus kept in touch with the cast?

Osment captioned the blurry photo of her, in part: “I love these guys. Obviously missing our girl! I hope all HM fans know that after all these years we still get back together and talk about how much fun we had growing up together in front of the world during the most awkward time in life and we couldn't have done it without it all. of you tuning in
Cyrus responded on Twitter. her saying, “I miss you! I wish I had been with my 'family to celebrate... I love you so much.'
Musso's Instagram page is almost exclusively devoted to his love for his Hannah Montana friends, with the latter being a throwback to the cast having lunch together.
Clearly, the supporting cast stays in touch, at least somewhat, but where does Cyrus fit in?
Is Cyrus still friends with her former co-stars?
Although Cyrus has spent the last few months almost exclusively with her boyfriend, Cody Simpson, she still maintains friendships with many celebrities she previously worked with.
Musso and Cyrus seem to keep the fire of friendship going. They first met in 2014 when Cyrus was on tour. Every single published photo showing her affection still remains. It's unclear if they've maintained that bond in the past year, but as some childhood friendships go, it may just be time and adulthood getting in the way.
In Osment's case, Cyrus previously told Seventeen they were just as close in real life.
"When you're with someone all the time, it's more than just her and I are friends, we're sisters now," she said. "When we met, we had an instant friendship and now we are more like sisters."
However, a few years later, Cyrus opened up about her rocky relationship in her memoir. Miles to go saying her friendship 'always ended in a fight'.
There have been other public conversations on social media between the two over the years, but as with Musso, life gets in the way of keeping some relationships strong.
Cyrus doesn't seem to have a problem with her former Hannah Montana co-stars and she probably still considers them friends. You don't tell anyone that you're a secret superstar, which is why Oliver and Lilly became part of Cyrus' permanent circle of trust. Still, fans will need to see another reunion soon.
