It was 1993 when two Hollywood stars, Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas, were summoned to work on a high-voltage project entitled Low Instincts. The direction would be in charge of Paul Verhoeven and the script under the pen of Joe Eszterhas. However, despite the spark that crossed the screen, the chemistry between the protagonists was not the best, and in private they did not have any type of connection, beyond the lines that appeared in the scripts.

It happens that, at that time, the actor was going through an addiction to alcohol that he could not fight despite his repeated treatments in rehabilitation centers.
