"It's so weird when something is very familiar, but you're also like the new guy," the Marvel star said. "Because Chris, Tessa and Taika had worked on 'Ragnarok' together, and so successfully it was like they were all coming together and I was a rookie trying to figure out how to fit in."

Portman continued, "But they're also the nicest people, and I also know Chris and Tessa very well from previous work together, and had also done 'Thor' movies twice before. So there was a lot of familiarity and comfort in that world as well, but it was this weird mix of being the veteran and the rookie at the same time. I was there at the beginning. But at the same time, you are the outsider of this group.

The experience wasn't entirely new for Portman as she has worked with both Hemsworth on previous "Thor" movies and Thompson on the 2018 film "Annihilation."

I feel this, are you feeling that too?' Just someone you can laugh with and talk about things in your workplace."
