Still, the 35-year-old actress knows that even a runny nose wouldn't deter Pattinson's most fervent fans. Her advice for anyone planning on getting close to RPattz on or off camera: "Bring a Sudafed!"
The 2011 dramatic romance movie Water For Elephants was definitely a smash hit, and with a star-studded cast including Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson, that's not exactly surprising. Still, though the duo acted their butts off and the movie received pretty decent reviews, one of the most common critiques posed about the film was that the two lacked a spark. And as it turns out, Witherspoon and Patterson were both aware of that.
In fact, in an interview with MTV News, Witherspoon explained how she was really dreading kissing co-star Pattinson, as he had a nasty cold at the time. "He did have a very runny nose, yeah," she began. "It wasn't appealing; it wasn't pleasant."
But Pattinson also told MTV News that he himself wasn't even looking forward to the kiss because of how gross he felt. "My nose is running all over the place, and it was in one of the additional photography scenes, and Reese had this wig on, and literally, I was wiping my nose on her wig," he said. Nothing like a runny nose and boogers in your hair to really get the spark going.
