Before living the dream wedding with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle had already been married. The former actress had married film producer Trevor Engelson and then separated from her, later becoming one of the few divorced women to enter the royal family.
Currently, and despite the controversial news that transcends her privacy, Meghan tries to live a quiet life and is very happy with Harry and her son Archie. However, the Duchess of Sussex has a past history that is interesting to remember.
Her relationship with Trevor
Trevor and Meghan met in 2004, according to the magazine Hello! and after dating for six years, they got engaged in 2010. Trevor is an American actor and producer who was born in New York but lives in Los Angeles. One of his best-known films is Remember Me, starring Robert Pattinson.
Although Meghan's first wedding wasn't cloaked in the luxury and glamor typical of royal weddings, it was nonetheless unique. The couple married in Jamaica on September 10, 2011. She was 30 and he was 35.
The ceremony took place in front of the beach at the luxurious Jamaica Inn resort in Ocho Ríos. The event lasted four days and there were more than 100 guests.
For the occasion, Markle opted for a boho-style strapless white long dress with a notched neckline. The simple outfit was accompanied by a belt with stones and diamonds, but there was no long train or veils. Her boyfriend, meanwhile, also chose to wear white, and did not use a bow, tie or jacket.
But the marriage was not meant to last. In August 2013, both were filing for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences." Although the relationship between the two is good, it is believed that Meghan's role in the Suits series came between her and Trevor. While he was working in Los Angeles, she was to film in Toronto.
Lady Di's biographer, Andrew Morton, published a book telling some "pearls" of Prince Harry's wife. As an example, he claims that Markle let Trevor know her marriage was over by mailing him her wedding ring.
However, everything was in the past and both continued with their lives separately. Even Trevor walked down the aisle again five days after Archie's birth and a week before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's first wedding anniversary.
On May 11 of last year, on the West Coast of the United States, Meghan's ex married Tracey Kurland, the nutritionist and heiress to a multimillion-dollar fortune - her father, Stanford, was an important Countrywide and PennyMac executive, two mortgage loan companies - to whom he proposed in June of last year.
