Emma Watson responds to criticism: "I don't know what my bre+sts have to do with feminism"

After the ridicule and criticism leveled at Emma Watson for "her supposed hypocrisy in showing her bre+sts in Vanity Fair magazine, being one of the most important spokespersons for current feminism", the actress has finally responded. And it has been forceful.

The controversy began after the publication of an interview accompanied by a suggestive and beautiful photographic report, which included an image of the actress undressing part of her front. The networks immediately echoed the news, placing the protagonist of Beauty and the Beast as the object of criticism and attacks by users who considered the actress's declaredly feminist position incoherent and dishonest.

A little over a week after the publication of the report, Watson has confessed to having been "shocked" by the reaction and controversy caused by the photographs of her.

"Feminism is letting women choose," she said in an interview with BBC News. “It is not a stick with which to hit other women.”

“It is freedom, liberation, equality. I really don't know what my b++bs have to do with it. It is very confusing. I'm confused. And most people are, too."

Her co-star Dan Stevens, present during the aforementioned interview, also did not understand the controversy. “What were people saying about your…?” he asked.

"They said I couldn't be a feminist...and have b++bs," Watson replied.

Let us remember that the actress was appointed ambassador of the United Nations in July 2014 and that she later collaborated in the launch of the HeForShe campaign for gender equality, giving a heartfelt speech about the reasons why she considers herself a feminist.

Subsequently, Ella Watson revealed that she was asked not to use the word "feminism" in her speech because the United Nations was afraid of "arousing rejection" from the people.

Beauty and the Beast, the actress's latest project, will premiere on March 17.
