A few years ago a scandal colored the world of Jude Law. Someone had been listening to his phones and had revealed that his girlfriend at the time, Sienna Miller, was cheating on him with the latest James Bond, Daniel Craig. Obviously the blonde's slip put an end to the couple, although he wasn't a saint either, before that he had been unfaithful to her with the nanny, which is why they spent a few years each on his own. But the eavesdropping did not stop there...
In the British media there was an issue to resolve: espionage. Yesterday the Closer actor went to testify in London as a witness in the wiretapping trial of the missing News of the World. The accused in the case are the former directors of the publication, Rebekah Brooks and Andy Coulson. According to the actor, they came to have an impressive amount of information about his life and he also assured that the attention they put on him intensified after he was nominated for an Oscar for his role in The Talented Mr. Ripley.
It was in that same place where Law found out who had leaked information. He knew that someone close to him had been passing compromising data to the diary but he didn't know who. Then, the lawyer of one of the defendants approached and handed him a piece of paper with the name and surname of that person. Jude was puzzled. He also discovered in the same appointment that this relative had given details of Miller's affair with Craig in exchange for money. "I never had proof of that, that they paid him, until today," he said when he found out.
At the trial, some of the messages that Sienna Miller left for Daniel Craig on her cell phone's voicemail were also heard: "Hello, it's me. I can't talk. I'm at the Groucho Club with Jude. I love you" .
