"The most important thing for me is life," the pop star says through tears in a video
Lady Gaga shared a tearful message after crashing her concert in Miami over the weekend.
The pop superstar posted an emotional video to Instagram on Saturday (September 17) explaining why the final concert of her Chromatica Ball tour at Hard Rock Stadium was abruptly halted that night amid "dangerous" rain and an electrical storm.
"We really tried to finish the show tonight in Miami, but we couldn't, because even when the rain stopped, there was lightning that hit the ground very close to us," the 12-time Grammy winner said, fighting back tears.
“I know for a long time I always wanted to be that tough, unconditional girl, but I really want to be responsible and loving too. I don't know what I would do if something happened to someone in the audience or to any member of my crew (or) my band, my dancers."
The A Star is Born actress also apologized for not being able to perform her collaboration with Ariana Grande, "Rain on Me," which topped Billboard's Hot 100 chart in 2020. But she said cutting the concert off was the responsible decision.
"Sorry I couldn't finish the show it was too dangerous lightning was unpredictable and changed from moment to moment," Gaga wrote in another Instagram post. "Look, for years some of you have called me the 'Mother Monster', in my heart I knew it was best to keep you safe. Thanks for believing in me".
The singer-songwriter's concert on Saturday was the last stop of her international tour The Chromatica Bowl, in support of her 2020 album Chromatica. The stadium tour was postponed twice due to the coronavirus pandemic. Here are Gaga's heartfelt posts on Instagram:
