The new royal titles for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's children will only be decided after the release of the Duke of Sussex's highly anticipated book.
Royal correspondent for Vanity Fair writes in his book The New Royals that the new monarch has been "reluctant" to make title changes in general.
“We know that titles matter to Charles, and he would like to limit them to the highest level of the royal family.
“He would also be reluctant for his brother, Prince Edward, to take the title of Duke of Edinburgh, even if it was the wish of their late father,” she wrote.
Weighing in on Archie and Lilibet to become a prince and princess as Meghan and Harry no longer work in the royal family.
"According to a Source close to the King, 'much depends on what happens in the coming months, especially with Harry's book and their TV show,'" the author wrote.
Meanwhile, royal correspondent Victoria Arbiter told The Independent: "[Archie and Lilibet] automatically become prince and princess, just because that's how the rules are made.
“It remains to be seen if Harry and Meghan will want it and the pressure that comes with it. Charles could change the Letters Patent and if he changes the Letters Patent it is no affront to Harry and Meghan,” the expert added.
