This Saturday, November 27 is a very important day for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. This is their fourth anniversary of engagement. As the Mirror reveals, the Duke of Sussex offered a very symbolic gift to his wife for the occasion.
A terrible couple from the British royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle slammed the door of Buckingham Palace in January 2020. Since then, the Sussexes have multiplied statements and affronts against the Windsors. The high point was obviously reached in March, when the exiles of Montecito answered questions from Oprah Winfrey. Archie's parents have not overlooked anything. Meghan Markle notably revealed having had suicidal thoughts while living at Frogmore Cottage, and claimed that a member of the royal family had raised concerns about Archie's skin color. Prince Harry, for his part, had claimed that his father Charles and his brother William are “prisoners of the monarchy”.
So many statements that had not yet been commented on by members of the royal family, faithful to the maxim “Never complain, never explain” dear to Queen Elizabeth II. However, Prince William had come out of his reserve to affirm that “no one is racist” among the Windsors. Since then, the hatchet is far from being buried between the two clans. Too bad for Meghan and Harry, who are living their best life in their Montecito mansion, on the heights of Santa Barbara. Now that they have said everything they had to say against the royal family, the parents of Archie and Lilibet no longer deprive themselves of living their life as they see fit.
"Harry wanted to make it special"
And this Saturday, November 27 is a very special day for the couple. This is the fourth anniversary of their engagement. It's been four years since Meghan Markle and Harry confirmed their engagement in Kensington Palace's Susken Gardens. At the time, the Duke of Sussex had offered his beauty a gold ring which belonged to Lady Diana, made up of two diamonds, including one brought from Botswana. Except that, as noted by the Mirror on November 27, the ring has changed. Prince Harry has decided to have the piece of jewelry redesigned to better match the Duchess of Sussex's wedding ring.
The engagement ring has undergone a redesign, so that it is thinner. According to the Mirror, the change certainly happened when Meghan Markle was pregnant with Lilibet. In the biography Finding Freedom, authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand revealed that to celebrate his first wedding anniversary to the Duchess, Prince Harry had gemstones added to the jewel. A peridot, a sapphire and an emerald have been added to it, to represent the birthstones of Meghan, Harry and Archie. “Harry wanted to make it special. He's the sweetest person ever. So romantic, so caring”, affirmed the jeweler to the authors. Now all that remains is to add that of Lilibet!
