Nicole Kidman acknowledges having faced one of the most difficult and tough roles of her life with that of Celeste Wright in Big Little Lies.
The Australian has sat down to dissect her experiences as a debutante in the television series Big Little Lies, giving some crude statements to Vulture magazine. Nicole has claimed to have experienced "real pain" when recording the moments of aggression suffered by her character at the hands of her husband, played by Alexander SkarsgÄrd.
“I would go quiet after shooting. I would go home and I would go quiet, exhausted,” says Kidman, “After shooting some of the very, very violent scenes, I was in a lot of pain in my body. It was very strange, very uncomfortable. I must say that it was not a pleasant feeling at all."
With these statements, Nicole assumes that she has faced an unpleasant role, with nuances of difficult interpretation and in which, at times, she goes beyond fiction to touch her human fiber: "Some women go through this, so I wanted to get to the truth and I wanted those scenes to be real, so it required some violence," he explains.
In the same interview, she Nicole tells that it is not easy for her to talk about the subject: "I guess I prefer my work to speak for itself and I don't like to dissect it too much".
As for Alexander, she only has words of thanks left: "Alex is great to work with because he really gets into the role and is very open and available," she revealed. The actor is almost two meters tall, something that, according to Nicole, is a plus point for the plot: "Physically he was also dominant, something that scared me but it is a challenge that I accepted," she concludes.
In the HBO series, Nicole showed that her talent remains intact, whether on the small or big screen, with a magnificent and committed performance. After the end of the series with the broadcast of the seventh episode a few days ago, the network has been full calling for a nomination for Nicole in the next edition of the Emmy Awards.
