'I wasn't n+ked!' Blanca Blanco b+res all about that wardrobe malfunction at the Oscars
Before there was the Best Picture scandal, this star had everyone talking at the Academy Awards.
Blanca Blanco has spoken exclusively to the about what lead to her head turning wardrobe malfunction on Sunday.
The 36-year-old actress has revealed she was left mortified after her dress slipped aside on the Hollywood red carpet.
The star - who was at the Oscars with long time beau John Savage, 67 - insists she was not pulling any stunt, she was just hoping to land on the Best Dressed List.
Still recovering from the shock on Monday morning, Blanca insisted to DailyMail.com that she was wearing underwear.
She told DailyMail.com: 'I had a bodysuit on, it as like a swimsuit, for some reason the pictures are looking like I have nothing.
'It was a n+de color, it matches my skin, so I wasn't n+ked.'
The actress - who was born in California and also raised in Mexico - insists flashing her knickers was not something she would ever do on purpose.
'I didn't think ''I'm going to expose myself at the Oscars,'' that was not the idea.'
'It was not a strategy or anything.'
Blanca, who just wrapped film Woman On The Ledge which also stars Rumer Willis, said the Oscars are too important for such a stunt.
'The Oscars is very important event and it is my dream to someday be there as a nominee and I respect the Oscars. I would not think of just going n+ked.'
Blanca did not realize something was amiss until midway through the Oscars when she was inundated with texts.
'Because I had the swimsuit underneath I didn't even think much of it but when I was walking forward I grabbed the dress because I realized it was sipping and it was moving up.
'When I was watching the show people were texting me and saying ''You are like everywhere, they are saying you don't have underwear'' and I was like 'What? Oh my god, this is so embarrassing.'''
As soon as the actress got a chance after the long awards, she called her mom to assure her she was not n+ked.
Blanca came up with dress' design and had a friend help her as she was determined to get on the Best Dressed List.
'Two years ago I went to the Oscars and for some reason they didn't like my outfit... So I was in the Worst Dressed category.
'I was hoping that this year it would be different.
'I wanted something different but I didn't expect the split to get more attention. I know it is high but it is a common slit that people are wearing.'
The star - who can next be seen in Teen Star Academy alongside partner John - said in hindsight she may have changed the gown's design a little.
'I think maybe I wouldn't have had the split as high.'
