The actor also confessed in the interview with 'Entertaiment Weekly' that his friend Matt Damon helped him make the decision to move away from the world of DC Comics.

Could the role of Batman be the one that has most marked Ben Affleck's professional career? You could say yes, since he himself would confess to various media that playing Bruce Wayne (Batman) was his dream since he was little. However, over time, that dream ended up being a nightmare for the actor.
In 2019, Ben announced his withdrawal from the world of DC Comics and apparently the reasons are due to a bad experience playing the Gotham character. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly along with Matt Damon, he confessed the reality of his abandonment: "I had a really horrible experience in Justice League (2017) for various reasons. Without wanting to blame anyone, a lot happened. But, really It's just that I wasn't happy anymore. I didn't like being there. I didn't think it was interesting," the actor said.
"Some really terrible things happened. Terrible. But that's when I thought, 'I'm not going to do this anymore,'" Ben said. This is where his friend Matt steps in to help make his decision clearer: leave the superhero universe forever. "You were one of the main influences in making the decision," Affleck said as he addressed Damon.

However, the American assures that he had a good farewell in the recording of the movie The Flash, which will be released next November of this year. In an interview with The Herald Sun, the actor confessed that it was "really" "interesting". "It was different, but not in a way that was incongruous with the character," he said.
“They might decide that didn't work out, but when I went and did it, it was really fun and very, very satisfying and uplifting. I got to thinking: 'Wow! I think I finally got it,'” Affleck added.
