The singer, who receives numerous criticisms for her image, referred to the physical issues that make her so complex and the idealization of the image that many make on social networks
Although she is at the height of her artistic career with the release of her second album Happier Than Ever, Billie Eilish must deal with the anguish that comes with being one of the most recognizable voices in the world.
The singer, just 19 years old, already has five Grammy Awards and is a global superstar. However, not everything is a bed of roses in her life because, from the beginning, she received numerous criticisms for her body. On this occasion, the artist herself referred to the physical issues that make her feel so complex.
While promoting her second studio album, Eilish spoke to The Guardian about her emotional and physical struggles. The artist explained that "Overheated", one of her latest songs, is aimed at individuals who promote unattainable beauty standards and she recounted her own experience by recognizing that she often compares her body with that of other people .
“I see a lot of people on social media with bodies like the one I never had. And I think: 'My God, how can they be like this?' I know the secrets of the Industry and what people use to edit their photos. In fact, I know that what seems real can be fake. However, sometimes I see it and think: 'this makes me feel very bad,'" Eilish said.
The author of “Bad Guy” mentioned again the pressure that she suffers from her image and she revealed that she does not feel satisfied with her image. "I'm happy with my life and I'm very confident in myself, but obviously I'm not comfortable with my body," she said. And she added: "But who is?"
At the time of her, the singer confessed that she used to wear loose and baggy clothes as a way to protect herself against negative comments from people. Now, she referred to that situation again. “When I'm on stage, I have to leave behind the negative ideas I have about my image. I know it can be really unflattering, but I just wear it because I have a terrible relationship with my body,” she concluded.
