Christian Bale: "Everyone on the set of American Psycho thought he was a bad actor"

Christian Bale and Josh Lucas recently worked together at Le Mans '66 - The Great Challenge. However, the James Mangold film was not the first big screen project in which both participated. The two also appeared together in Mary Harron's American Psycho, one of the iconic titles in Bale's filmography.

In American Psycho, Christian Bale plays the crazy Patrick Bateman but his performance did not impress his colleagues on the set.

Josh Lucas confessed to Bale that the other actors on the set of the Mary Harron movie thought he was honestly a terrible, bad actor.

"Josh Lucas and I did a movie together recently and it opened my eyes to something I wasn't aware of. He informed me that all the actors in American Psycho thought I was the worst actor they had ever seen. He said that They kept looking at me and talking about me saying, 'Why did Mary fight for this guy? It's terrible.' And they didn't change their minds until they saw the movie. I was completely unaware of these criticisms."

American Psycho is a 2000 film inspired by the Bret Easton Ellis novel and directed by Mary Harron. Christian Bale plays Patrick Bateman, a young and wealthy stockbroker from the 1980s who leads a double life and collects homicides in his luxurious apartment in New York.

In addition to Christian Bale and Josh Lucas, the film also stars Willem Dafoe, Jared Leto, Justin Theroux, and Bill Sage.

In the last few hours, an epic poster for The Batman has been released comparing Bale to Ben Affleck and Robert Pattinson. Christian Bale had turned down a fourth Batman movie, wanting to give up the character at the end of Nolan's trilogy.
