Emily Ratajkowski risks embarrassing wardrobe malfunction

Emily Ratajkowski risks embarrassing wardrobe malfunction as she goes without knickers after hitting back at 'attention-seeking' jibes

The Blurred Lines music video model has blasted society's 'double standards'

Emily Ratajkowski has stepped out in a daring cut-out dress that posed a serious risk with one false move at a New York Fashion Week bash.

The Gone Girl star, 25, recently blasted claims that she was an 'attention-seeking whore' and confidently waltzed down the red carpet without her knickers with a huge cut-out panel on her hips.

Brunette Emily joined stars at the Target & Img Nyfw Kickoff Event in the n-de midi-length dress, and draped a shawl over her arms in case she caught a chill while holding a black box clutch.

The We Are Your Friends actress recently vented her frustration at being dismissed as just a pretty face who wanted attention in an essay for Glamour.

“Commenters said I had 'an excess of beauty and lack of brain' and told me to 'shut up and show us your tits,'” Emily wrote.

“But I was also criticised in a very specific way - for seeking attention. They wrote me off as 'a desperate attention whore,' saying I was taking part in the conversation only because everybody else was too.”

Emily, who describes herself as a “politically minded”, confessed that she had been dubbed “an attention whore” that many times she would barely flinch if she heard it.

“Our society tells women we can't be, say, s-xy and confident and opinionated about politics,” she said.

“This would allow us too much power. Instead our society asks us to declare and defend our motivations, which makes us second-guess them, all while men do what they please without question.”

After pointing out the differences between s-xes and how they are viewed for the same actions, Emily insisted that women should be unapologetic for their decisions.

“We shouldn't have to apologise for wanting attention either. We don't owe anyone an explanation,” she said.

“It's not our responsibility to change the way we are seen - it's society's responsibility to change the way it sees us.”
