One of them was an email that he replied to a journalist who had consulted him regarding a false accusation attributed to actress Jennifer Aniston that he had never made about him.
In October 2017, the National Enquirer magazine tried to contact the former CEO of Miramax because he had information that Weinstein had s-xually harassed Aniston. However, the producer responded on his behalf and even a representative of the artist denied the complaint. “The National Enquirer's claims are false. Jennifer has not been molested or assaulted by Harvey," her spokesman, Stephen Huvane, told Variety magazine.
"The National Enquirer intends to publish a story reporting that Jennifer Aniston was s-xually assaulted by Harvey Weinstein," the journalist - whose name was not disclosed - had written to the spokesman Weinstein had hired to try to counteract the image crisis he was going through. for the number of complaints of harassment and rape that weighed against him, which finally turned out to be true.
"Jen Aniston should be killed," Weinstein wrote in an email dated Oct. 31, 2017. At the time, the Hollywood boss was going through his most desperate days trying to counter the unstoppable wave of the #MeToo movement that had him as the main protagonist. The documents that show the producer's fury with the actress were analyzed by Variety and correspond to what the jury and the New York City Criminal Court evaluated during the trial.
A sour relationship
The bond between Aniston and Weinstein was never healthy. However, he never climbed to instances of s-xual harassment, according to the statement that Huvane sent to the editorial staff of Variety magazine. But he did experience awkward moments.
