The singer was surprised by several social network users liking a photo of the protagonist of the series "Friends".
John Mayer surprised his followers on social networks due to his activity, after several users noticed that the Gravity singer recently liked a post from an Instagram account dedicated to Jennifer Aniston.
The post features a series of snaps of the Friends star on top of a bike that is captioned: "I just can't handle these pictures." After the account's followers noticed Mayer's like on the pictures of his ex-girlfriend, the actress's fans were quick to comment on the post. "John Mayer liked it," wrote one user along with an emoji of a crying face. To which the account owner responded, "I know!"
This small gesture from Mayer shows that he has maintained a friendly relationship with Aniston since her breakup more than a decade ago. The artists dated several times in the late 2000s, before calling it quits for good in 2009.
Mayer has even spoken about their separation, confessing to Rolling Stone magazine in 2012 that he felt sorry: "I've never really gotten over it. It was one of the worst moments of my life," said the musician.
In April, Aniston herself caught the attention of many of her when she was captured watching an Instagram Live of Mayer. Fans even saw The Morning Show actress comment with three happy emojis.
In February, two months before the exchange on social networks, Mayer and Aniston were caught at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Hollywood, where they left almost at the same time, so they did not finally meet again.
You can't miss it!
"Jen and John were at Sunset Tower on Thursday night, but they weren't together. Jen was with Amanda Anka and her friends and John was there separately," a source told E! news at the time. "They weren't in the same part of the restaurant for most of the night. Jen had her back to the room and was focused on the people she was with.
"They both come frequently and it was just a coincidence that they were there on the same night," the source continued. "They got up to leave at the same time and walked around the lobby with their groups, but it didn't seem like a big deal. John left by himself and Jen left with her friends," she added.
Although Aniston keeps her personal life private, she opened up about Mayer after her first breakup in 2008. "He had to say that he broke up with me," she said in an interview with Vogue magazine. “And especially since it's me. He's not just some girl he's dating. I get it. We're human.
"But I feel very protective of him and us. Believe me, you will never see that happen to that man again," Aniston added. "And that doesn't take away from the fact that he's a wonderful guy. We care about each other. It's funny when you get to a point in a relationship and you both realize that maybe we need to do something more, but still really We really love each other. It's painful. There was no malicious intent. I care deeply about him, we talk, we adore each other. And that's where things are."
