Karren Brady has slammed Meghan Markle's latest cover shoot with Variety magazine for being out of touch, as she claimed it felt "crass".
Karren Brady has shared her thoughts on Meghan Markle's new interview in Variety Magazine where she donned a designer wardrobe. In an exclusive chat, the Duchess of Sussex spoke about mourning Queen Elizabeth II and how life is in America with her husband Prince Harry.
The Duchess of Sussex, 41, posed on the front cover of the magazine, wearing a powerful gold choker necklace.
The mother of two tied her hair back into a ponytail and appeared to be wearing black for the front cover of the magazine.
The 53-year-old has today waded in on the reportedly expensive photoshoot as she branded the move "crass".
The Apprentice star said that while she believed Meghan looked "amazing" the businesswoman questioned the expense of the designer garments worn.
Karren also claimed she was surprised about someone who wanted to keep a "low profile" has "kept on popping up in a lot of exclusive cover interviews".
Writing in her column for The Sun, she began: "Oh dear! Another distinct miss in Meghan Markle’s campaign to cast herself as a woman of the people.
"Yes, she looks amazing in pictures for her latest interview, this time with Variety magazine."
But Karren took issue with the reported cost of the clothes used in the magazine shoot in the midst of a cost of living crisis.
She continued: "But the £2,652 Carolina Herrera frock, the Jason Wu cocktail dress priced at over £4,434 and the £1,383 Galvan gown just aren’t quite chiming with where most people are at on the whole cost-of-living issue.
"Sure, she looks great, but wearing such ultra-expensive designer clothes at this time just feels a bit, well, crass, doesn’t it?"
Her comments come after Meghan wowed fans in a series of photographs showing a wide range of styles, in her latest interview.
Royal fans loved Meghan's style and took to social media to praise her look.
Similarly, @Yorkie_mommi added: "This is what you call STUNNING!"
Additionally, Twitter user Eva Awa Gomis wrote: "Our Princess Meghan is so beautiful."
In one photo, Meghan posed in a cream jumpsuit that featured a V-neck.
She wore her brunette tresses in loose waves and accessorised with a gold bangle and a gold bracelet.
During the interview, Meghan opened up about mourning the loss of the Queen, adding it had been a "complicated time".
She said: "Certainly, in terms of female leadership, she is the most shining example of what that looks like.
"I feel deep gratitude to have been able to spend time with her and get to know her. It’s been a complicated time, but my husband, ever the optimist, said, 'Now she’s reunited with her husband.'"
