An alleged victim of the former film producer accuses him of s-xually assaulting her on several occasions.
Another woman has filed a lawsuit this Friday in Los Angeles (USA) against film producer Harvey Weinstein, whom she accuses of s-xually assaulting her on several occasions and boasting to her of having slept with actress Jennifer Lawrence after one of the assaults.
The unnamed woman accuses the producer and his former studio, The Weinstein Company, of assault, s-xual assault, retaliation, discrimination and gender-based violence.
"I slept with Jennifer Lawrence and look where she is"
The plaintiff contends that in 2013, during the Sundance Film Festival, she had a meeting with Weinstein in the producer's hotel suite, allegedly to discuss a movie role. According to the woman, Weinstein burst into the bathroom when she was there, took off his pants and masturbated in front of her. Later, also at the festival, Weinstein reportedly followed her into another bathroom, where he "tightened her" and placed her hand on her penis.
On another occasion, Weinstein allegedly invited her to her New York office, where he began groping her, pushing her and performing oral s-x on her against her will. "Do you want to be an actress?" he asked her, according to the lawsuit, after which he told her: "I slept with Jennifer Lawrence and look where she is. She just won an Oscar."
Lawrence denounces "predatory tactics"
After learning of this new lawsuit, Lawrence said that she has only had "a professional relationship" with the producer, and expressed that her heart "breaks for all the women who were victims of Harvey Weinstein." "This is yet another example of the predatory tactics and lies she used to lure countless women," she added in a public statement.
For his part, a spokesman for the producer assured that "there is absolutely no truth in the malicious claims made in this lawsuit", adding that Weinstein feels "embarrassed" by Lawrence, "with whom he has only had a respectful professional relationship", and that it has been "devastated to this ugly attempt at defamation", picks up TMZ.
Dozens of women have accused Weinstein of s-xual misconduct, and he denies all accusations leveled against him about non-consensual actions. His attorney, Benjamin Brafman, has questioned the credibility of the alleged victims.
