The 'Basic Instinct' actress has suffered up to three different near-death experiences
Sharon Stone has survived the threat of death three times in her 62-year life. If when she was a teenager she suffered a major cut on her neck and in 2001 she suffered a stroke, she has now revealed that she also survived a lightning strike. According to the protagonist of 'Basic Instinct', it was her mother who revived her and took her to the hospital to save another new danger to her life.
"I was at home, when I was filling the iron with water, I had one hand on the tap and the other on the iron when the well (in my garden) was struck by lightning. The electricity came to me through the water," he explained in the 'Films to be Buried With' podcast. Unaware, the Oscar-nominated actress for 'Casino' was lucky that her mother was in the house and saw the situation. She "she hit me in the face and took me to the hospital."
The medical tests observed that there was still electricity in her body and she had to attend different tests for ten consecutive days to check her condition. "She was crazy," recalled the interpreter of 'Diabólicas'.
According to the 'Blood and Sand' actress, the experience was "very intense." The impact threw Sharon Stone into the refrigerator and she was knocked unconscious. "She threw me all over the kitchen, whoa!" Explained the North American interpreter.
Third time in danger of death
The actress did not specify when that mishap occurred, but she acknowledged that since then she has been upset when everything is "so bright." This is another anecdote to add to her memoir 'The Beauty of Living Twice', which will go on sale this year. In it, two other occasions are remembered in which she survived situations of real danger. The first happened when she was 14 years old and she rode a horse. She passed by a place where there was a tight rope and she was about to die from an impact that left a mark on the left side of her neck visible when she is not covered or made up for the films in which she works. .
The other episode that put Sharon Stone's life in danger was a stroke. She now remembers the event so that no one makes the same mistake as her. She woke up on the carpet and tried to get back to the sofa without success during a time when she had a singular headache. She thought it was temporary and although she couldn't speak she thought that an aspirin would be enough. "I didn't go to the hospital until the third or fourth day of the accident. Most people usually die (within that time). I had a 1% chance of surviving in that time with surgery and for a month I didn't know if I would live," she explained at a gala for the Women's Brain Health Initiative. This type of accident, caused by hemorrhage, can have associated side effects such as aphasia and depression.
Her husband's accident at the zoo
Interestingly, she also had a dangerous experience with her ex-husband Phil Bronstein when they were still married. During a private visit to the Los Angeles Zoo, the editor was attacked by a Komodo dragon. According to the keepers, the attack could have been due to the fact that when the man took off one of his socks and the reptile was able to confuse the shape with one of his usual meals: rats.
At 62, the 'Total Challenge' actress boasts of having overcome other great obstacles. For example, after her brain problem she came out healthy but without a career. They stopped calling her for movies and the custody of her son was in danger. But she continued to work and maintains her activity in television series, movies and commercials. She now has two more adopted children in the family, a Golden Globe for 'Casino' and the recognition of her own and others. Neither a rope around her neck, nor electricity from lightning, nor a stroke have managed to stop her.
