Sandra Bullock was a struggling actress when she got an opportunity to audition for a role in "Speed". The only catch was that she had to cut off all her hair. She agreed to it and went on to do a screen test. But, when he saw her haircut, the director David Fincher didn't think she was right for the part and just walked out of the room.
Bullock was devastated. After that, she had to take acting classes and wait tables to make a living. She couldn't even get a commercial. But her persistence paid off! After a couple of years of struggle, she was casted in the movie "Demolition Man", which was a blockbuster.

Sandra told in an interview that she was one of the few who could not buy clothes for the last 3 months and she was not able to afford to go out to lunch with her friends.
However, she held it together, she knew she would do whatever it takes to make it in Hollywood. Soon after she was offered the part of a romantic lead in the movie "Speed".
