There seems to be a re-occurring theme with Spider-Man actors dating their co-stars.
Tom Holland and Zendaya, who play on-screen lovers Peter Parker and Michelle ‘MJ’ Jones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series are currently dating in real life.
Plus, former Spider-Man actor Andrew Garfield dated his co-star Emma Stone, who played Gwen Stacey in the franchise, for four years from 2011 to 2015.

WHEN DID TOBEY AND KIRSTEN DATE?
Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst started dating in 2001 after meeting on the set of Sam Raimi’s 2002 movie Spider-Man.
The pair were cast as on-screen lovers Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson, and a spark soon grew between them in real life.
They kept their relationship very private and never revealed exactly when they got together, but they seemingly dated for around a year.
THEY SPLIT BEFORE THE SECOND MOVIE
The romance between Tobey and Kirsten didn’t last very long and they split before the second movie which was released in 2004.
We don’t know the exact reason, but it seems as though the spark between them simply fizzled out and there was never any bad blood.
In fact, the pair continued to be on-screen lovers in the second and third Spider-Man movies, so there was clearly no awkwardness.
Director Sam Raimi feared that they would never get their chemistry back though and told The Sydney Morning Herald:
“They apparently began dating with each other, I think, in the middle of the first movie … but definitely they eventually broke up before the second movie. I was concerned they wouldn’t get the same chemistry back, but it was just me worrying.”

In 2021, Tobey Maguire is dating 29-year-old Los Angeles-based model Tatiana Dieteman.
The pair met after Tobey divorced his ex-wife Jennifer Meyer and have now been dating for around three years.
Kirsten Dunst is engaged to actor Jesse Plemons, who she met in 2015 on the set of the film Fargo in which they played high school sweethearts.
They keep their relationship pretty private but have been dating since 2016 and have two children together.
