''I don’t think it’s necessary most of the time,' says the Devil Wears Prada actor
Emily Blunt has said she now avoids n-de scenes in films, arguing that on-screen female n----- is often unnecessary.
The 33-year-old, who is best known for her role in Devil Wears Prada, questioned whether n----- works in the interests of plot formation or is simply “seeing someone’s tits for the sake of it”.
Blunt has performed in a number of roles in the past where she was required to appear n----- top--less, including her iconic early-career film My Summer of Love in 2004 and Henry VIII in 2003.
But in the 2015 film Sicario, Blunt chose to veto the n-de scene which had been originally included in the film.
The London-born actress also said being a mother has had an impact in this decision - Blunt is currently pregnant with her second child.
‘Too racy would be one thing I wouldn’t go for now,” she told The Telegraph.
“I’m not so keen on doing n-dity, because I’m not 22 any more. And actually it’s not so much a moral thing as “I’ve done it before and do I really want to do it again?
“Does it serve the film or is it gratuitous and seeing someone’s tits for the sake of it? Because I don’t think it’s necessary most of the time,” the actress adds.
Blunt lives in Los Angeles with husband and fellow actor, John Krasinski, who plays Jim Halpert in The Office, and their one-year-old daughter.
