Inside Bridget Fonda’s quiet life out of the spotlight 12 years after 90s actress, now 58, quit Hollywood to be a mother

Bridget Fonda has lived a quiet life out of the spotlight for 12 years after the 90s actress quit Hollywood to become a stay-at-home mom.

The 58-year-old’s life has drastically changed since she left behind her life of fame.

Earlier this week, Bridget was spotted out in Los Angeles as she sported a pink Mickey Mouse T-shirt.

She appeared casual in the loose-fitting clothes, while Bridget went makeup-free and wore her hair in a messy low ponytail.

The retired actress was all smiles and appeared in good spirits as she chatted with a friend near her home in Encino, California.

Bridget was seen petting her cute dog, Yuki, as the pup sat in the back of her car.

Meanwhile, the actress was in full mom-mode as she carried a bag full of sports equipment that might have belonged to her son.

Bridget quit her successful acting career 20 years ago and has been living a low key life in the wealthy LA suburb with her husband Danny Elfman, 68.

LOW PROFILE

The public outing is rare for the Golden Globe winner, who has done her best to keep a low profile since leaving her Hollywood career behind.

The recent spotting comes just days after Bridget was seen for the first time in 12 years in late January.

Last week, Bridget was photographed for the first time since 2009.

The former scene-stealer was spotted wearing a loose black-and-white striped shirt, black rimmed glasses and baggy pants as she stepped out of her silver Land Rover SUV in LA.

Her once golden-blonde hair - now grey - was pulled back in a bun and she appeared to be going makeup-free.

She was seen driving with her son Oliver, 17, whom she shares with music maestro Danny.

The family's dog was also by her side as the reclusive star navigated in and out of her car and carried various items including a cell phone.

The outing in LA marks Bridget's first public appearance since she was last photographed at the premiere of Quentin Tarantino's World War II epic Inglourious Basterds with Danny 12 years ago.

GLAMOROUS PAST

Bridget made her acting debut with a cameo in the 1969 film classic Easy Rider when she was five-years-old.

The film starred her father, the legendary actor Peter Fonda.

Peter died in 2019 at the age of 79.

Bridget is part of the famous Fonda family, which also includes her grandfather - Oscar-winner Henry Fonda of Once Upon A Time In The West - and actress and fitness icon Jane Fonda, 84, who is Bridget’s aunt.

Throughout her career, Bridget proved her acting talents in films including The Godfather Part III, Single White Female, Singles, Point of No Return, It Could Happen to You and Jackie Brown.

She won three major awards during her career - two Golden Globes and an Emmy.

Her last acting credit was as the titular character in the 2002 made-for-television film Snow Queen.

SCARY ACCIDENT

Following her retirement, Bridget suffered injuries from a bad car accident in which she fractured her back in 2003.

According to BBC, Bridget was alone in her Jaguar when the vehicle careened over a divider on the Pacific Coast Highway, experiencing "a slight fracture of two thoracic vertebrae."

She reportedly only survived because she was wearing a seatbelt.

LIFE IN RETIREMENT

Also in 2003, Bridget married Danny and they later welcomed their son in 2005.

The musician also shares two daughters, Lola and Mali, from his previous marriage to Geri Eisenmenger.

Not much is known about how Bridget has spent her time in retirement, as the star has intentionally stayed out of the spotlight.

While Danny is active on Instagram, the actress rarely appears on her husband's social media account.

Instead, the musician shares photos promoting his career and snaps of their dog Yuki.

Just days ago, Danny revealed he swapped his clean cut look for long hair and chest tattoos.

While he's been seen in suits and glasses while hitting numerous red carpets over the years, a recent picture showed that Danny has grown out his red hair and flaunted his hidden tattoos.
