Jennifer Aniston was keeping strong as her divorce from Brad Pitt was confirmed - until Angelina Jolie became pregnant.
The former Friends star, now 50, was said to be 'heartbroken' when the news of Angelina Jolie being pregnant with Brad Pitt's child was revealed in 2005.
Jennifer and Brad didn't have children during their five year marriage and the actress was said to be upset when Angelina fell pregnant within months of their split being announced.
It was during a post-divorce interview with Vanity Fair that the pregnancy hit home and Jennifer broke down in tears over the news.
The rumours about the pregnancy had spread like wildfire in 2005, with some reports suggesting that Angelina was already finishing her first trimester by the time the news was confirmed.
When Jennifer was asked about her thoughts on it, the interviewer revealed that she looked as if she'd been 'stabbed in the heart'.
Jennifer was 'unable to speak' as tears rolled down her face, with the interviewer noting that she 'bit her lip' as she tried to get through the moment of personal distress.
Kritstin Hahn, a friend of Jennifer, said at the time that her meeting Brad with his child in tow would be almost too painful for her to bear.
She said: "My worst fear is that Jen will have to face them having a baby together soon, because that would be beyond painful."
Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt was born on May 27, 2006 and Angelina and Brad went on to have five more children, three of whom were adopted.
