While ballerina Sarah Lane insists Black Swan producers are lying about Natalie Portman's dancing ability, an Irish student says she was paid £250 -- about $400 -- to strip to her skivvies for the swimming scene in Your Highness. Since when was having a body double such a shocking development?
"I'm a film studies student so I jumped at the chance to be on set," Caroline Davis told the U.K.'s Daily Mail. She's the one showing off her bum in a thong before diving into a lake -- you know, the thong that was digitally altered in trailers so as not to offend the easily offended. The move was apparently made to avoid subjecting Portman to the icy water.
The Brits seem intent on making hay that Natalie is somehow something she's not, especially after America Ballet Theatre dancer Lane started blabbing about how unfair it was she didn't get credit for Portman's dancing scenes. Thing is, Portman has never claimed to be a pro dancer, and she's never said those cheeks in Your Highness were hers (she already showed them in that awful movie Closer anyway), so in both cases, who really cares?
