He in fact had two different children with two different women. His idea of commitment is staying with Rachel for 2 years. Rachel is attractive, but Ross doesn't feel the same for her. He is more committed to the idea of being with her. This is not good because this doesn't come from the heart. He also is always trying to get his ex-wife back.
Rachel broke up with him, but he wants her back. That shows lack of confidence in himself. He is not able to find a woman better than Rachel.
Rachel does not like being his "monkey" and is ready to get out of the relationship. Ross is not mature enough for a committed relationship. Rachel is not a bad person either, but she obviously wants more out of the relationship than what Ross is giving to her.
Although Rachel has a lot of annoying moments in the series, she is also an admirable character. She's perceptive, loyal, and caring. She's a good friend and a great girlfriend. Plus, she's got a great sense of humor. On the other hand, Ross is so annoying. He is selfish and arrogant, and he is always second-guessing his girlfriend. He's such a nerd! He's also a pathological liar and he can be self-centered at times. He's a runner-up, but definitely... Rachel is the less toxic person in the show.
