Why Anna Kendrick Refuses To Do N-de Scenes

Actress Anna Kendrick has shared her reasoning for refusing to shoot scenes that require her to be n-de on camera.

Talking to The Sydney Morning Herald about her new TV series Love Life, the 34-year-old Pitch Perfect star explained that she’s happy to film s-x scenes, but not ones that require n-dity.

“My personal feelings on n-dity – that I’m not really interested in n-dity for me – stayed the same. I’ve never had a problem with simulated s-x scenes – that feels like it’s about the character, whereas I only get one body, so n-dity is more about me,” Kendrick says.

Her new show, a HBO Max exclusive, follows Kendrick’s character as she goes on a series of romantic dates, so intim-te scenes were required.

“When we started filming, it dawned on me that in every single episode I was going to be doing a kissing scene or a s-x scene with someone brand new,” Kendrick adds.

“It was definitely weird to know that we were going to meet and within a week we were going to be in bed pretending to have s-x!”

Why Anna Kendrick Refuses To Do N-de Scenes

In recent years, film and television shoots have introduced “intim-cy coordinators” to choreograph simulated s-x between actors to ensure they are filmed in a safe and comfortable environment for all involved.

Actors will often have it written into their contracts so they can refuse shooting n-de scenes, and in cases in the past, body doubles have been employed where necessary.

Kendrick shot to fame thanks to a supporting role in the Twilight franchise. She received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in director Jason Reitman's Up in the Air in 2009. She’s led the Pitch Perfect franchise for three films, and most recently voiced Princess Poppy in Trolls World Tour.
