Mark Wahlberg is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood today, but at the time it took him several years to really attract attention as an actor - let's not forget that he had previously tasted the honey of success as a rapper and model. It wasn't until the premiere of 'Boogie Nights' that he proved he could be a reliable headliner and now the actor has revealed that he regrets making it.
In fact, the protagonist of titles such as 'The incident' ('The Happening') or 'The Fighter' has highlighted 'Boogie Nights' as the film that leads the films for which he asks God for forgiveness. A surprising revelation if we take into account how well received it was, but one that can be understood from the point of view of a believer. This is what Wahlberg comments when he recalls his filmography from a religious point of view:
I always hope that God is a movie buff and that he forgives me because in the past I have chosen questionable projects.
Let's remember that 'Boogie Nights' revolved around the porn industry during the 70s and 80s of the last century and that Wahlberg gave life to Dirk Diggler. The tape narrated his rise to stardom in adult cinema and his male member played a decisive role in it. I don't know if God -if he really exists- could like a film on this subject, but it was excellent and to apologize for having made it and highlighting it, in its own way, the worst of his filmography is something at least striking .
In addition, Wahlberg also noted that he has never had a problem talking about his past, including his convictions for various crimes when he was young. I imagine that the Catholic faith has been key to redirecting his career and that is why he is very involved in various causes to help kids whose lives could end much worse than his if they follow the steps he took at his age.
