If you have never watched Game of Thrones, you should know that it has a lot of s-x. I mean, there are no TV’s in Westeros so what else are people supposed to do? Obviously, Game of Thrones, with all its s-x and graphic violence, that it’s a show that shouldn’t be seen by children. But just because it isn’t suitable to be seen by children, the show needed children to be in the show.
When a child actor is in a show or movie that features situations they shouldn’t see, there are ways to make sure they aren’t being exposed to that kind of thing. For instance, a chaperone (usually a parent or guardian) is on hand to make sure of that and to make sure they are keeping up in their schoolwork. And when there’s a scene that consists of nudity or a s-x scene, the child actors aren’t on set when that happens.
But sometimes that’s unavoidable and child actors have to be more adult than a normal child that age and have to be more mature about the things they learn. For Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones, she got that as a 13-year old when she first started on the show and learned what oral s-x was after reading about it in a script.
“I’d be doing a read-through and we’d be talking about very graphic stuff,” Turner—who had her mom on set as a chaperone until she turned 16—says of her experience in the show’s first season. “The first time I ever found out about oral s-x was from reading the script. I was like … ‘Wow! People do that? That’s fascinating!” She adds, “I guess that was my s-x education. Being on Game Of Thrones.”
Let’s be honest, this probably doesn’t even crack the top 100 of worst ways to learn about s-x. It’s actually kind of funny to learn about it this way, through a script of a show based on a book by George R.R. Martin. Now that she’s 21, you can say that Turner has grown up on Game of Thrones.
