I'd stick to the catwalk! Rookie Cara Delevingne almost loses her bikini as she takes to the ocean for a wake boarding lesson in Barbados
She’s currently enjoying a sunshine break in Barbados with her family.
But while the sun failed to shine on the West Indian island on Boxing Day, nothing was going to stop willowy model Cara Delevingne letting her hair down.
Indeed, the 21-year-old gamely tried her hand at wakeboarding after taking to the choppy waters on Wednesday afternoon, but her efforts were left wanting.
Cara had traded the blue, equine print two-piece she wore earlier that day for as striking red bikini, over which she wore the obligatory life-jacket for an amateur attempt at the surface water sport.
Despite managing to keep her balance, the young model repeatedly crashed into the water whenever her boat gained momentum.
At one point she almost lost her bikini bottoms, which rode down her slender thighs as she doggedly pulled herself onto the wakeboard for another attempt.
Cara was joined by older sister Poppy, and the two girls were spotted as they precariously attempted to balance on the board with a female pal.
With the weather decidedly overcast, Poppy had tweeted a picture of the unseasonably grey conditions earlier that day with the accompanying caption: ‘Someone’s in a mood today #CheerUpBarbados.’
Earlier that day Cara revealed what appeared to be a new tattoo on her chest after hitting the beach close to her exclusive digs at the island's Heron Bay resort.
The line in question, Don’t Worry Be Happy – the title of Bobby McFerrin’s 1988 hit single - was clearly evident beneath her equine print bikini as she waded into the surf on Boxing Day.
Cara later plodded back onto the sand, where a gallant assistant was ready and waiting with a large beach towel that she gratefully accepted before making her way back to her sun lounger.
The tanned assistant was back moments later with a cold drink that he served to grateful Cara on a silver platter while she chatted with a female companion.
After drying herself the model showed off some impressive footballing skills before changing into a white vest top and denim shorts for a jaunt around the bay on a small boat.
Earlier this year she was given a warning from her modelling agency to stay away from the tattoo parlour after getting an equally distinctive ‘Made in England’ tattoo on the base of her foot – but it wasn’t enough to prevent her paying a visit to Brazilian tattooist Daniel Tucci.
‘I drew a Number 12 in black Roman numerals about five centimetres big on her,’ he later told Yahoo! OMG.
‘She told me that 12 is her lucky number and that’s her lucky place, below her breast. The 2nd tattoo is the Southern Cross, a constellation made of five stars, which is one of the symbols of Brazil.
‘It's a cross made with stars around her ear, one star on the top of the ear, one behind, one on the back, one below and one on the tragus, like a circle around her ear.’
