Cox, who has previously expressed his support for the abolition of the monarchy, took a jibe at the Duchess of Sussex by claiming that she had entered the family with the assumption that she and Harry could easily “cut themselves off” from the Firm.
According to Haute Living New York, Cox stated, "You can’t go into a system where somebody’s already been trained to behave in a certain kind of way and then just expect them to cut themselves off.
I mean, she knew what she was getting into." Cox also shared his belief that Meghan had an “ambition” when she married Harry, as reported by MailOnline.
Cox had previously expressed his thoughts on abolishing the monarchy, stating in an interview with ES Magazine two years before Queen Elizabeth’s death, that the British royal family should be abolished after her passing to rid its "feudal hold on our culture".
While acknowledging the Queen’s remarkable achievements, Cox added, "But when she’s gone, the whole bloody shooting match should go, I really think so."
