The annual event gathers the crème de la crème of the fashion and entertainment industry at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC.
Hollywood PR expert Jordan James revealed to Express UK that he believes the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may be excluded from the event due to their ongoing criticism of the royal family and their public airing of grievances.
James, who is the CEO of Unlocked PR, said it remains unclear whether Harry and Meghan will receive an invite, adding that it would not be a surprise if they were snubbed.
According to James, attending the Met Gala could enhance Meghan and Harry's image in America, but he believes they are unlikely to attend even if invited due to the potential scrutiny they would face, especially as the event is close to the Royal Coronation. "They will undoubtedly face scrutiny, no matter how hard they may try to minimize fallout," James explained.
