According to Prince Harry's book, Spare, the Duke of Sussex thought that
Meghan Markle would be wise to leave him after he first confessed his love for
her in September 2017.
The book details how Prince Harry said "I love you" to Meghan while they were making dinner in his former royal home, Nottingham Cottage.
While the words had been on the tip of his tongue, saying them made everything real and set things in motion, including the possibility of moving in together.
The admission left him with "roiling emotions," and he analyzed the situation, fearing that Meghan would bolt and go back to Toronto, change her number, or heed the advice of her girlfriends.
Part of him thought that she would be smart to do so, but he loved her with all his heart.
