Christopher Andersen, author of The King, believes that the King's decision to ask the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to leave their royal residence in Windsor was not only a cost-cutting measure, but also a way to punish both Harry and Andrew.
Andersen claims that "booting the Sussexes out of Frogmore Cottage" was not just about Harry's controversial memoir Spare and its references to Camilla, but also a way for the King to make it appear as though he was saving money while punishing two members of the royal family at the same time.
The spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed that they were asked to give up their UK home, although they had not been living there since leaving their royal duties in 2020 and relocating to California. Prince Andrew has reportedly been offered the residence, as it is smaller than his current Royal Lodge home.
