The picture was accompanied by a Breitbart story alleging that the judge's daughter had worked on the Biden-Harris presidential campaign. Don Jr. shared the post on Twitter and Truth Social, stating that it was "relevant" and another connection in the ongoing show trial.
During a speech at his Mar-a-Lago estate, the former president also attacked Judge Merchan and his family, pointing out that his daughter had worked for Vice President Kamala Harris and now receives money from the Biden-Harris campaign. He claimed that the judge and prosecutors had done wrong to his former chief financial officer, and compared the situation to the old Soviet Union.

The judge had warned Trump to stop making remarks on social media that could lead to violence, but refused to issue a gag order on the case. Prosecutors expressed concerns that Trump's "threatening" social media posts could influence jurors or witnesses. Before the arraignment hearing, Trump had posted a fake image of him attacking Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg with a baseball bat. He has also previously insulted Mr. Bragg on Truth Social.
The Manhattan District Attorney's office has accused Trump of falsifying business records and conspiracy, leading to his arraignment on 34 counts. This makes him the first former US president to be a defendant in a criminal case.
