According to director James Cameron, Kate Winslet was left "traumatised" while filming the 1997 hit movie "Titanic".
The film turned out to be a game-changer for Winslet and her co-star Leonardo DiCaprio, who both became overnight sensations.
Winslet was even nominated for an Academy Award for her nuanced performance as Rose DeWitt Bukater, a charming and neurotic teenager who longs to escape the monotony of aristocracy and her abusive relationships with her mother and fiancé.
Now, over two decades later, Winslet has reunited with Cameron for the highly-anticipated sequel to his 2009 blockbuster "Avatar", called "Avatar: The Way of Water". In a candid interview with Radio Times, Cameron revealed that Winslet, who was young at the time and had mostly worked on indie films, was intimidated by the grandeur of "Titanic".
As this was her first big-budget film, she was a bit stressed out. However, once she overcame her initial shyness, she gave her all to the role, with Cameron noting that on set, "She's very large and in charge. You'd swear she was producing the film."
Winslet will be playing the role of Metkayina leader Ronal in the upcoming film, set more than a decade after the events of the first "Avatar". The movie shows Jake, the protagonist, in a stable relationship with Neytiri, with whom he is shown as a parent of three children.
Cameron has announced four sequels to "Avatar", with two of them already filmed. The remaining two will depend on the box-office performance of "Avatar: The Way of Water".
