According to royal biographer and author Phil Dampier, King Charles’
relationship with his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet is in a difficult state
due to the actions of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
Dampier believes that if the couple had made the decision to attend and accept the King's invitation, it would have been a positive step towards repairing their relationship with the royal family.
However, their absence has left Charles in a "heartbreaking limbo", and it is likely that Archie and Lilibet will suffer as a result.
Dampier stated that while the children are too young to attend the ceremony, it would be wonderful for the King to see them if they were to visit, and it is sad that he is unable to spend time with them.
These claims were made during an interview with The Mail.
