Margot Robbie's Full-Frontal Scenes Almost Ruined Her Career

Margot Robbie, the Oscar-nominated actor known for her roles in I, Tonya and Bombshell, as well as her iconic portrayal of Harley Quinn in DC Studios movies, faced a setback in her career after her full-frontal scenes in The Wolf of Wall Street in 2013.

Producers felt that she was being pigeonholed as a "s-x symbol" rather than a legitimate actor, following her n-de scenes in the movie. However, Robbie defended her performance and the choices she made as an actor.

In The Wolf of Wall Street, Robbie played Naomi Lapaglia, a character who used her s-xuality to manipulate and eventually marry Jordan Belfort, a Wall Street mogul. Robbie b-red all in a few scenes, which made her extremely popular, but also risked derailing her career. In 2018, she auditioned for the role of Elizabeth I in the historical drama Mary Queen of Scots, but almost missed out on the part due to the crew's reservations about her ability to portray the character.

Despite this setback, Robbie delivered a stunning performance and even earned a BAFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actress the following year. She told Harper's Bazaar that she was looking to play a different kind of woman in her next movie, one who wasn't simply a "catalyst for the male story line." Robbie committed fully to the role of Elizabeth I, delivering a foreboding performance that matched her haunting look. However, she also felt left out of the cast and crew, who were too "spooked" to talk to her between scenes.

Despite the challenges she faced in her career, Robbie has continued to defend her choices as an actor, including her portrayal in The Wolf of Wall Street. She remains a highly respected and sought-after performer, with many future projects in the works.
