The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were spotted at a Lakers game in Los Angeles, accompanied by some close friends. Photos of the couple at the game quickly went viral.
Commenting on their outing, Daniela Elser raised concerns about the timing of the Sussexes' recent appearances. Meghan also gave a surprise TED Talk on the same day that Prince William had a key royal engagement. Elser suggested that Meghan's return to the public eye so close to Prince Charles' coronation was suspicious.
Elser wrote for News AU, saying: "... Even if we assume that the Sussexes' outing coinciding with William's Anzac engagement was entirely accidental, the fact that the couple, and Meghan in particular, has returned to the limelight with such intensity so close to Charles' coronation is a different story entirely."
Elser also mentioned that after months of staying out of the public eye, Meghan had made a "startlingly glossy and dewy-looking" appearance in a video at a TED Talk to introduce photographer Misan Harriman, who has taken official photos of the Sussex family.
Later that night, Meghan and Harry were seen enjoying themselves at the Lakers game, which Elser found to be an odd choice for two people who have a famously difficult relationship with photographers and the tabloid press.
