Despite being on the guest list for the coronation, recent moves by the couple suggest that they are not interested in returning to the royal fold in the near future.
The Duke of Sussex previously hinted at his reasons for leaving the royal family in a conversation with Dr. Gabor Maté and revealed that he is unsure if he will ever reunite with the Firm. Harry stated that he has always felt different from the rest of his family and that his wife, Meghan, helped him out of that world.
However, a royal expert predicts that if the couple decides to skip the iconic ceremony, it will likely mark the official end of their ability to ever patch things up with the rest of the royal family.
Royal public relations expert, Edward Coram-James, believes that The Firm will be even more upset if the Sussexes decide not to attend.
Coram-James explained that their absence would draw out the conflict over the long term and give further oxygen to the rift and allegations that the Sussexes have leveled at the royal family. Ultimately, it would risk becoming the elephant in the room and an unwanted sideshow.
